ESA said E3 will return in 2023. The E3 event may not have happened this year, but the event is returning next year, according to Stan Pierre-Louis, president and CEO of the Entertainment Software Association. The Washington Post Today, ESA announced its intention to bring E2023 back in 3, despite not being on the video game scene this year.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused numerous in-person events and tournaments to be postponed or canceled over the past two years. E3 was one of the biggest events caught off guard by the pandemic. Completely canceled in 2020, the show returned in an online-only format for 2022 before an in-person event scheduled for 2021 was canceled due to COVID. Subsequent plans for another online event also fell through.

THIS, He's still hopeful that 2023 will be the year of E3's triumphant comeback. Pierre-Louis told The Washington Post that next year's event will feature elements of a traditional live and in-person E3 show alongside an online show. “I think there is space for a physical show; “I think it's important to have digital access,” Pierre-Louis said. “When we put these two together, I think it's a critical element of what we think E3 can deliver.”

E3, a premier event for developers to announce images and news of new and upcoming games, seemed problematic even before COVID-19. Several companies have decided to stop presenting at E2018 in 2019 and 3, choosing to stage their own online game promotions instead. Game Summer Fest Other events such as E3 are planned to fill the void left by the beginning of June. E3 will have to hope after a long hiatus that the novelty and appeal of a new in-person event can hold the interest of the public and developers alike.

Similar to the 2022 E3 cycle that ended with the event's cancellation, no date has been announced for next year's E3. But for those who missed the in-person presentations and experienced the crowd's reaction to the big surprises and teasers, there's still hope that E3 will return.
