Qualcomm Technologies has partnered with ESL to unveil the Snapdragon Pro Series, a "premium, global and multi-genre competition" that it calls "one of the world's largest mobile esports ecosystems".
The Pro Series was announced yesterday, not much information has surfaced about it. There will be several tournaments in North America, Europe, the Middle East, China, North Africa and Asia-Pacific, culminating in a lively "Masters Finals".
The tournament will take place in three phases: Open, Challenge and Masters to give all players from different regions a chance to participate. Qualcomm said the total prize pool is estimated at $2 million.
“The rapid rise of mobile esports is well documented and we are incredibly proud of the role ESL has played so far,” said Rodrigo Samwell, CCO of ESL Gaming. “Our new collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies and the Snapdragon brand will elevate our mobile ecosystem to its full potential. We are excited to transform the future of mobile esports for gamers and fans around the world and continue to create a world where anyone can be anyone.”
More information about the Pro Series is expected to be announced in April 2022. Last year, ESL Mobile Open featured seven games: League of Legends: Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, Asphalt 9: Legends, PUBG Mobile, Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, and Clash Royale. The Pro Series is a multi-genre tournament. Various mobile games may come to this tournament.
