FIFA 23 releases free content to celebrate the upcoming men's World Cup in Qatar. EA Sports has detailed what will be in the upcoming DLC. The free World Cup update hits FIFA Mobile on November 8, followed by November 9 for Xbox, PlayStation consoles and PC. However, Nintendo Switch players will unfortunately not be able to have this DLC. As the Switch version of FIFA 23 is an older version with the same gameplay features and modes as FIFA 22, players will not be able to receive this update.
The World Cup update will allow players to compete in matches as any of the 32 qualifying nations. Players can also change the settings of the tournament. You can set the groups and spare teams in the cup according to your own wishes. There will also be an Online Tournament mode where players can compete with other players in the World Cup format.

After the free DLC, EA will offer players a “live experience” called FIFA World Cup Live starting November 21. This mode will be updated in the Group and Qualification stages of the real World Cup, and the teams will have up-to-date rosters for each game based on their formation in the actual tournament. This will continue until 18 December, when the World Cup final will be held.
Additionally, EA will release new FIFA Ultimate Team campaigns from November 11 to December 23. Players can also expect to see authentic team kits, stadium designs, match balls and exclusive commentary around the World Cup.
The Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand will take place in July-August 2023, and EA said fans can expect more details on a future update on the theme in the coming period.
As for FIFA Mobile, the World Cup update will allow players to earn World Cup-themed rewards for Ultimate Team, in addition to other updates.
The first match of the 2022 Men's World Cup in Qatar will be played between Qatar and Ecuador on 20 November.
