Fortnite Chapter 5 Start Date, Big Bang Event, and Everything Else We Know
Fortnite is gearing up for a massive expansion in Chapter 5 Season 1, including new Lego, music and racing modes.
December marks the beginning of a new chapter for Fortnite fans. Fortnite OG served as a strange interlude between Chapter 4 and the upcoming Chapter 5. It brought in a ton of players, but there's no ongoing story, so it's nearly impossible to theorize about what will happen next.
Fortunately, we know a lot about Episode 5. December is arguably going to be the biggest month in Fortnite history, with the introduction of a major new Lego mode, a Rocket League-related racing mode, a new rhythm game from Harmonix, and of course a brand new battle royale island. Let's take a look at what we know so far.
When does Fortnite Chapter 5 start?
Fortnite Chapter 5 is expected to launch on Sunday morning, December 3, but an official start date and time have not yet been announced. This prediction is based on in-game information, including when the game will be offline for the Chapter 5 patch.
Will there be a live event to wrap up Fortnite OG/Chapter 4?
Yes it will happen! Fortnite hasn't had any live events since the poorly received Fracture event a year ago. This has been the longest drought for Fortnite live events since the game started doing so in Chapter 1. But finally, at the end of Fortnite OG, we are getting an event called the Big Bang, which will start on Saturday, December 2nd at 11:00 CET / 14:00 CET.
While most of the event's details will likely remain secret until it begins, Epic has already shared the most important detail: Rapper Eminem will be a major part of the Big Bang event. She will have three costumes in the item shop starting November 29, and one of them will have a special style if you join Big Bang. This costume, called Marshall Never More, is not free; Those who purchase will receive a special bonus style from the event. You also don't need to already own this costume. If you participate in the event and purchase Marshall Never More a year later, the game will remember and unlock the bonus style for you.
You should expect this event to be some sort of remix of Chapter 1's Final event, in which the battle royale island was sucked into a black hole. However, unlike that event, Fortnite will not be completely offline at the end of the event. User-made Creative maps will remain online until 2:20 PM PT / 30:11 AM ET on November 30.
Fortnite Chapter 5 New Modes and Features
Fortnite Chapter 5 promises to add new modes and features to the game. Here's what we know:
- Lego mode: In this mode, players will be able to build their own structures using Lego blocks.
- Rocket League racing mode: In this mode, players will be able to race on a battle royale island using Rocket League cars.
- Harmonix rhythm game: In this game, players will earn points by moving with music.
A brand new battle royale island
Fortnite Chapter 5 comes with a new battle royale island. What this island will look like has yet to be revealed, but big things are expected from Epic Games' creative team.
Fortnite Chapter 5 looks like an exciting new beginning for the game. With new modes, features, and an island, fans of the game will have plenty to enjoy in late 2023 and early 2024.
What can we expect from Fortnite Chapter 5?
We don't know much yet about what's in store for Battle Royale. Presumably, a new map will be created during The Big Bang event, but it's pretty quiet about new gameplay mechanics or changes. This is probably because there have been a lot of leaks about new modes outside of BR – more on that in a moment.
We have a potential for the new map. leakage there.
The name of this map currently in the Fortnite game files is Helios. This may indicate that there is no new battle royale map, as all four previous BR maps were named after Greek gods whose names start with A, and Helios is clearly not following that trend. However, it is still possible.
Now, let's talk about other things expected to be released after Episode 5 begins. When Episode 5 launches, the game will still offer the battle royale and Creative mode you may be accustomed to. But we should get three big new game modes from Epic during Chapter 5 Season 1.
Fortnite x Lego
This collaboration has been talked about and leaked for a year, and now it's finally happening. Fortnite x Lego looks more or less like a Lego-branded Minecraft rival built into Fortnite. In this mode, you will play as a customizable minifigure and collect resources and craft and build things with them. Lego Fortnite will have its own cosmetic system, separate from what we've been collecting over the years for the battle royale and Creative modes – it doesn't look like you'll be able to wear your Darth Vader costume in Lego Fortnite.
One of the rumored highlights of this mod is called Digital Twin, which allows you to import your own likeness into the game, which you've somehow created with real Lego minifigures. However, we haven't been able to get any more details about this for a while.
Fortnite Festival from Harmonix
Another mode that has been talked about for a long time is a rhythm game from Harmonix, the creator of Guitar Hero. This mode looks like they've built Rock Band into Fortnite, but there's no mention of physical instruments. At the very least, you should expect this mod to be playable with a controller or keyboard like other Fortnite mods, but hopefully there'll be instrument support as well. If so, it would be realistic to hope that that old USB Rock Band guitar you have hiding in the back of your cabinet will work in this mode.
The mode will also have its own microtransactions, such as in-game instruments and outfits, and of course new songs to play (like Thunder by Imagine Dragons, Poker Face by Lady Gaga, Toto by Africa, and Numb by Linkin Park, according to HypeX). looks like. Reportedly, Fortnite will also play Lobby Tracks, which could mean the opposite is also true: Songs you purchase at the festival will also work as Lobby Tracks.
Rocket League Races
This racing mode is a crossover with Epic's Rocket League, offering ridiculously over-the-top kart racing style gameplay using Rocket League vehicle mechanics. Given that Fortnite Crew has included the Rocket Pass for a while now, it's expected that at least some of the cars you own in Rocket League will carry over, with Rocket League and Fortnite creating a new shared cosmetic pool.
In each of Lego, Festival, and Rocket League Racing, we're dealing with nothing more than leaks and rumors, to be frank. But it's true that basically everything in Fortnite is leaked, and these leaks appear to be reliable, so we expect to see them come to fruition in the near future.
What will the Chapter 5 Season 1 battle pass look like?
There have been no rumors about Chapter 5's first battle pass so far. We'll update this news as we learn more about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1.
