Epic Games first announced its fundraising effort on March 20, noting that all profits from in-game sales for two weeks will go to humanitarian aid in Ukraine. Xbox also participated in the fundraising effort and committed its own revenues from Fortnite during the term. Epic announced the final total via a tweet on the official Fortnite Twitter account:

Fortnite's Chapter 3 coincided with the release of Season 2, and in-game purchases will be at their peak during this time. The resulting funds make Epic one of the largest corporate donors, or even one of the largest direct donors, to humanitarian efforts in the Russo-Ukrainian war. It's hard to quantify exactly where Epic's contribution is, but the amount is equivalent to all countries' contributions. In context, according to this list, which tracks donations to Ukraine, the Czech Republic donated $66 million in aid to Ukrainian refugees, as well as $13,2 million in humanitarian aid to civilians still in Ukraine.

In short, huge sums of money going towards an extremely valuable cause. In UNICEF's latest status report , stated that as of March 31, an estimated 4 million people fled to other countries due to Russia's attack on Ukraine, while 6,5 million people were displaced within Ukraine.
