FunPlus Phoenix completed its League of Legends roster today, building a roster around Lin “Lwx” Wei-Xiang after a disappointing group stage debut at Worlds 2021.

The Chinese LPL team retained only Lwx from their original roster. New additions include top laner Ping “xiaolaohu” Xiao-Hu, jungler Yang “Beichuan” Ling, mid laner Kim “Gori” Tae-woo, ADC Luo “jiang” Bai-Jiang, Support Fu “Hang” Ming-Hang' and another support player, Dang “Lele” Bo-Lin.

The 2019 world champions FPX performed brilliantly as they placed second in the LPL Spring and Summer Divisions this year. Still, the Worlds 2021 performances weren't all that favourable. Despite being the favorites of the tournament, they were eliminated in the group stage.

Except for Nuguri and Lwx, all former FPX players have found new homes. The LPL team promoted players xiaolaohu, Beichuan, and jiang from academy team FunPlus Phoenix Blaze and brought them to the main roster.

Gori has to be the biggest name on paper for FPX. He is returning to LPL this time after leaving LCK's Nongshim RedForce. Prior to joining Nongshim Redforce, Gori built a reputation after playing for SK Telecom T1, EDward Gaming and others.

FunPlus Phoenix has a history of bringing players from the academy to the main roster, but there are big gaps the youth team needs to fill if they want to repeat FPX's success in 2019.

LPL Spring Split 2022 starts in January 2022.
