343 Industries said players "start their sessions with slower payouts than desired."

More EXP changes have been added to Halo Infinite, giving players a nice boost in their first few games each day.

Infinite's battle pass progression has been a hot topic since the game's shadow of multiplayer fell earlier this month. At first there was no XP to be gained from playing the game, all experience was accumulated only through difficulty. 343 got stuck in a persistent 'play a single game' challenge that earns 50 XP each time, but community manager John Junyszek said the studio has noticed that "players are starting their sessions with slower payouts than we'd like."

To combat this, the first six games played each day will reward a stack of bonus experience that gradually decreases from the seventh game until you return to the standard 50 XP. The changes will be released later today and are made “based on data and player feedback.”

While a welcome change, the battle pass is still a somewhat flawed mess. Junyszek said the 343 is "depending on" making bigger changes going forward, but it will "take time" to implement them. Even Halo Infinite's lead designer said he "feels everyone's pain" about Infinite's frustrating progression system, adding that handling complaints is his top priority.
