IO Interactive announced on its July roadmap that its new map for Hitman 3, Ambrose Island, will arrive on July 26 with a free DLC to all players. This will be the game's first new map since its release last January.

Judging from the trailer, Ambrose Island looks like a filthy, tropical region ruled by an outcast rebel. IO Interactive says the map is a "fully explorable sandbox location" with a "hidden cove" home to a dangerous gang of pirates operating in the Andaman Sea and many hidden secrets. Also, the map will come with new missions, challenges and rewards.

IO Interactive first released a preview of the map, codenamed “Rocky” at the time, earlier this year. In May, the game studio announced that it's speeding up the release date of Ambrose Island to compensate for the delay in Hitman 3's upcoming roguelike mode, called Freelancer. The new mode was originally scheduled to launch in the spring of 2022, but is now expected to arrive in the second half of this year.

IO Interactive also outlined a number of other changes to its roadmap. It changes as the game's free spin location at Himmapan Hotel until July 17, adding Vicente Murillo as the current "Hard Target" with Wen Ts'ai's comeback on July 15.

The new map will be released on July 24.
