The 2022 CS:GO season is coming to an end, and with it it's time for Valve to host the second CS:GO Major of the year. With a prize pool of $1,25 million, the IEM Rio Major will be played from October 31 to November 13, featuring a total of 24 teams from Europe, America and Asia-Pacific.
This will be the first Valve-sponsored CS:GO event held in Brazil. The competition will begin with 16 Challenger and Contender teams competing for one of the eight available spots on the Legends Stage, where eight teams with Legends status will await.
The top eight teams in the Legends Stage will advance to the playoffs, called the Champions Stage. While the Challenger and Legends Stages will use a Swiss system format where only progression and knockout matches are in bo3 format and the remainder will be played in bo1 format, the Champions Stage will only qualify the top eight teams in a single elimination. will place it.
