League of Legends players compete in competitive ranked leagues available in-game each season to earn a ranked frame that they can display to their friends and teammates on the loading screen at the end of the season.

There are currently a total of nine graded frames in the game. You will start the game with the lowest rank of Iron and have the chance to start with Gold based on your performance in your placement matches. If you continue to win games after this point, you can climb up to Challenger (Championship), the highest rank in the game.

Here are all the ranked frames in League of Legends.

This rank was added after Riot said there should be additional leagues at the top and bottom of the ladder to dilute players in the Bronze and Master leagues.

Mastery is the first rank league without divisions like I-II-III-IV. Players can earn more than 100 LP and if they reach a certain threshold they will be promoted to Grandmaster. About 0.16 percent are part of this tier, according to League of Graphs. Once players reach this level, they often start looking for opportunities to become professional players in various academy leagues around the world. This is a great scouting ground for emerging talent in the area.

Grandmaster is one of the two peak levels in the game with the most skilled and competitive players in each region. Players need a minimum threshold of 200 LP to reach from Master to Grandmaster. However, this is not the only restriction as a limited number of players can rank up depending on the server. To be promoted to Grandmaster, players must reach 200 LP and then surpass a player who can rank higher in the rankings. Only 0.029 percent of players are part of this tier.

Championship(Challenger)

Players need a minimum threshold of 500 LP to get from Grandmaster to Challenger. A limited number of players can reach this level depending on the server. After reaching the LP threshold, players will have to beat another player in the rankings if the fields are already filled in order to be promoted to Challenger. According to League of Graphs, only 0.012 percent of players are part of this tier.
