The Lost Ark gameplay video offers a crash course through the popular Korean ARPG.

The high-end Diablo-like is coming to the West in February.

We first heard about Lost Ark back in 2014, when we described it as an “extremely good-looking ARPG,” and it sounded absurdly exaggerated (but in a good way) Diablo-like. Lost Ark came out a few years later in 2018, but only in Korea. After that, it mostly fell off our radar until mid-2021, when Amazon announced it was working with developer Smilegate RPG to localize Lost Ark for North America and Europe.

During the November 2021 beta testing, we took a closer look at the game and found that seven years later it still "redefines the top".

“Every time I fast travel, I pull out an electric guitar and play a sweet lick and I still don't know why,” said weekend editor Jody Macgregor. “When I jump into my vineyard, I choose between a horse and a cloud that can make a fireworks display. The Path of Exile seems to have been cursed by a witch to make it look boring so a prince wouldn't fall in love. Everything about the Lost Ark is garish, cartoonish, and glorious.”

I got the same impression watching this new Lost Ark gameplay video. Harmlessly enough, it starts with a brief rundown of the five classes (Sorcerer, Martial Artist, Warrior, Gunner, and Assassin) and abilities, but quickly moves from there to character customization, a collision course in setting and story, sailing ships (yes, crewed ships), castles , raids, PvP and more. To put it mildly, there is a lot going on and it looks great.
