A minor update on the Xbox Store may have leaked an announcement for this week.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition could be an Xbox Game Pass title as early as this week, according to an apparently inadvertent listing on the Xbox Store.

According to the Polish XGP website and reported by VGC, the remastered collection of the original Mass Effect trilogy was briefly listed with the Game Pass logo in the box art. This was an indication that an announcement was imminent in the past, but in some cases it was just a mistake (Batman: Arkham Knight took months to hit the subscription service after the logo in the box art was leaked earlier.)

Mass Effect publisher EA offers its own subscription service, EA Play, as part of Xbox Game Pass. The game vault is routinely updated with new additions, and most new versions are available within a year of their release. With the release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition in May 2021, that timing may have been sped up, although the collection was selling beyond EA's expectations.

Developer BioWare is currently working on the next iteration of Dragon Age, but has also unveiled the next entry in the Mass Effect series. Earlier this month, a teaser image suggested Geth's comeback, with previous crew member Liara also expected to return (and potentially star) in the sequel. No release windows were shared.

Recent additions to Xbox Game Pass have been strong, including It Takes Two, Unpacking, and Forza Horizon 5.
