Artwork for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has appeared on Steam. This is rumored to have caused various rumors among fans and this could mean Activision is bringing Call of Duty back to Valve's PC platform Steam after a seven-year hiatus.

As spotted by u/Kalinin and posted to Reddit, the Modern Warfare 2 Ghost artwork has "appeared on Steam". The user added in his reddit post: “For some Call of duty games like Black Ops 3, artwork appears at the bottom of the DLC page”.

But soon after, the image was removed and replaced with a blank image…which of course further strengthened the claims on social media. Fortunately, they took a screenshot before the pictures were replaced.

The previous near-future sequel to developer Infinity Ward's long-running Call of Duty franchise The next game, confirmed to be Modern Warfare 2 (not to be confused with the 2009 game of the same name), will be released on October 28.. The platforms where the game will be released have not been detailed yet.

Activision Blizzard announced Modern Warfare 2 and its logo in April, after months of rumors and even an official preliminary announcement in February.

Alongside the October launch of Modern Warfare 2, which Activision Blizzard hopes to help drive sales of Call of Duty, Warzone 2, the new battle royale game that promises "groundbreaking innovations", will also be announced later this year.
