After a short delay, MultiVersus has confirmed that Season 1 will start on August 15 with a new battle pass.
The official MultiVersus Twitter account announced the Season 1 start date, while also confirming that the season's first new character, Rick and Morty's Morty Smith, will debut on August 23, eight days later.
MultiVersus Season 1 was originally scheduled to launch on August 8, but the developer announced a delay a week before the start of the season. No new date was given for the delay at the time, leaving both the game's opening season and Morty's arrival in limbo.
Morty isn't the only character confirmed for the game's Season 1, as his grandfather Rick Sanchez will also be joining the cast in the game's opening season. No release date has been announced for the addition of Rick.
The developers also shared a snapshot of the characters they'll be adding to the game for the first season of MultiVersus, including online ranked lobbies, a single-player arcade mode, and more characters beyond the pre-approved Rick and Morty.
