Evil Dead Rise is out now. Horror buffs, get ready to be showered in blood this Halloween: Evil Dead Rise has been added to Netflix UK and Ireland just in time for the spooky season.
The horror film, starring Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland and written and directed by The Hole in the Ground's Lee Cronin, only opened in theaters in April – meaning it's had a pretty quick run at a major streamer.
As you can guess from its name, it is the last part of the series created by Sam Raimi, which started with The Evil Dead in 1981. Replacing a cabin in the woods with a run-down apartment in Los Angeles, the film focuses on sisters Beth and Ellie; When the siblings' children Danny (Morgan Davies), Bridget (Gabrielle Echols) and Kassie (Nell Fisher) find a mysterious book in a bunker beneath their dilapidated high-rise, their tense relationship comes to a breaking point.
Unaware of the dark origins of their discovery, the teens take them back to their home and unintentionally release a powerful demon that has taken up residence in their mother's body. Then, struggling with the news that she is pregnant, Beth is forced to try to keep her nieces and nephews safe for 12 terrifying hours.
Fans of the genre seem excited about Netflix's new addition, and they wasted no time taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their excitement…
One social media user tweeted, “Cheer up everyone, Evil Dead Rise is on Netflix,” while another wrote, “Evil Dead Rise is finally on Netflix, time to relive my nightmares.”
