The bad guy could be in the game very soon.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is set to make some much-needed changes to the game on February 3.
The Nickelodeon-based free-for-all fighting game has been relatively quiet on content since the release of Garfield the Cat last month. While a minor Twitter update focused on remapping the controller was announced, no dates or major changes were announced.
It looks like the community's larger update requests will be answered as the game developers' long-awaited update will be announced on IGN's social media accounts early next month.
IGN was used as a platform for many important announcements of the game. This seems to indicate that the 'major updates' from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl are going to really matter. There are many different speculations as to which updates will come, with the biggest highlight being a new DLC character.
In December, Diego Hernandez, the game's art director, entered Hungrybox's The Box Championship Circuit: Invitational Finale to hint at some upcoming updates in 2022. In her surprise appearance on the air, Hernandez said that a new DLC character will be joining the game soon. The Art Director also confirmed that there are “a bunch” of characters in the works.
Hernandez also did not miss the opportunity to add other features of the game, most notably crossplay. Other notable additions to the game include the addition of more stages, possibly unique to future DLC characters.
While no DLC characters have been announced, when the game was first launched, data was speculated against the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles evil Shredder, revealing both Garfield and Shredder move sets.
With Garfield already confirmed and now a fighter in the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, the TMNT villain is likely to follow him soon. However, fans will have to wait until February 3 to get full confirmation of the anticipated second DLC character.
Since the game's release in October, the fighting game has garnered a massive following, where it was nominated as a DICE Awards finalist for best fighting game of the year. The winner of the award will also be announced on February 24 on IGN.
