Nintendo of America Doug Bowser sent out an email addressing the controversy.

The Wall Street Journal published a lengthy report last week containing long-standing claims. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has known about allegations of sexual harassment by female employees at the company for years, deliberately withholding this information from the company's board of directors, according to the report.

Following this striking report, both PlayStation and Microsoft sent internal emails to staff denouncing Activision Blizzard's actions. According to a fanbyte report earlier today, Nintendo also addressed the report internally.

Citing an internal fanbyte response from one of its sources, the report, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser, called the accounts in the WSJ report "sad and disturbing."

“Together with you, I have been following the latest developments regarding Activision Blizzard and ongoing reports of sexual harassment and toxicity at the company,” Bowser said in an email to Nintendo of America employees on Friday, November. “I find these statements sad and disturbing. They go against both my values and Nintendo's beliefs and policies.”

“Every company in the industry must create an environment where everyone is respected and treated equally, and where everyone understands the consequences of not doing so,” Bowser said.

Nintendo has reportedly been in contact with Activision Blizzard. Nintendo also began working with the ESA last week to "strengthen attitudes towards workplace harassment and abuse," calling on both Nintendo and the lobbying organization of which Activision is a part to hold their members to the highest standard.
