The LEC returns to a familiar format on January 14.

Like previous seasons, the 2022 Spring Split will feature two superweeks of three days in a row, before moving on to the playoffs on March 25 and culminating in the finals on April 9 and 10.

Riot remains “vigilant” and “cautious” amid the ongoing global pandemic and will host the playoffs, including the finals, at the LEC Studio in Berlin, Germany. But the developers are working to deliver an "even better" online viewing experience for fans at home.

The recently revamped ERL will launch at a similar time. The so-called Accredited ERL (Superliga, Prime League, Ultraliga, etc.) will start on January 10 and Non-Accredited ERLs (PG Nationals, Esports Balkan League, Greek Legends League, etc.) will start a week later.

The ERLs will start with the play-in stage on April 4 and end with the Amazon European Masters Spring tournament, which is expected to end with the final on May 8.

A new organization will also make its debut at the LEC in 2022. Team BDS will replace FC Schalke 04 with a new League of Legends roster that has yet to be announced.
