Episode 4's second patch is fairly minor, but it addresses issues such as a performance improvement, a change to in-game AFK detection, and Killjoy bugs.

Previously, players who chose the windowed full-screen mode noticed higher latency than those that were exclusive to the full-screen. Riot also said that improvements to align the two will also work with in-game overlays. An important note: putting another window over VALORANT will cause drops again.

Riot has updated its “AFK” detections. It's not clear what this means, except for the fact that it will now be better at detecting AFK players in games.

There are two bug fixes in VALORANT Patch 4.02. First, a fix for a bug in the Bulldog Spectrum Z skin. Flickering FX around the Spectrum Z logo will no longer appear next to the trigger during the second review animation.

The second bug fix is more important. Previously, Killjoy's Alarmbot and Turret were sometimes irretrievable after being revived by Sage, but this patch fixed the bug.

Riot Games released a Developer diary on Thursday that discusses the plans for Chapter 4, Act II. Gamers can expect much more from these small patches that target performance and micro-tunings in the game.
