Riot Sets a Release Date for Rework Rework, which will soon make its way to Rift.
Rell's long-awaited rework is coming to League of Legends PBE servers next week, according to a May 12 statement by Riot Games design manager Stephen Auker. The champion update is expected to be officially released with Patch 13.11.
Rioter said the rework will dramatically change the way players play Rell without making it feel like a brand new champion. “He should still play and feel like the old Rell, but give him more options,” he said.
Rell's changes are aimed at maximizing its potential and making it more versatile. In a blog post published in March, Riot announced that its E will be overhauled.

His passive, W ability, and ultimate will receive minor changes, while making his "horseless form feel more empowering". Overall, these changes will allow him to be played more often in non-support roles, according to Riot.
“We still think there is high value here, but we need to prove we can do it without hurting Rell's support,” Auker said.
While Rell's rework is expected to roll out to live servers soon, it's likely to be delayed if tests on the PBE reveal it needs more work. This scenario also happened in Ivern's mid-scope update, and the release date was delayed by at least two weeks.
According to Riot's calendar, League Patch 13.11 is expected to arrive on live servers on June 1st.
