The Sentinels defeated G2 Esports 2-1 after both teams' great performances in today's VALORANT Champions Tour match in Berlin.

Many analysts and fans expected the Masters Reykjavik champions Sentinels to beat G2 2-0. After a 13-6 win in the Split, the Sentinels looked like they would live up to all these expectations.

G2 came back with a 13-8 win at Icebox. G2's win is the first time Sentinels have lost a map in LAN.

The match raised anticipation by many, especially G2, as one of the hottest matches of the group stage of VCT Masters Berlin. The anticipation paid off: The match was the second most watched competitive VALORANT match of all time, according to EsportsCharts, with just under 800.000 viewers on the first map alone.

The next match between these two teams will be held on September 15. Their group has three teams left due to the absence of Bren Esports, which is scheduled to be the fourth team in the group. Therefore, only one team will be eliminated from the Sentinels, F4Q and G2 trio. The Sentinels will play F13Q on September 4.

The Sentinels' Tyson β€œTenZ” Ngo has killed 54 over three maps. 12 of them were first blood, whereas Tenz gave only 3 first blood to the opponent.

The Sentinels may still have the status of the best team in the world, but G2 showed the rest of the world is catching up with them. There's still a long way to go in this tournament and anything can happen, especially once the teams find out that the Sentinels can get hurt.
