Insomniac Games must still be feeling the consequences of last year's data breach, as the trailer for the Spider-Man: The Great Web project leaked onto the internet. The trailer sees multiple Spider-Men fighting Sinister Six villains and traveling across the multiverse.

Spider-Man: The Great Web is Insomniac's canceled multiplayer project and players explore New York in a co-op environment. leaked 12 March The dated trailer shows multiple Web-slingers taking on street thugs and Sinister Six villains like Venom and Doc Ock, and then traveling through portals to other alternate universes.

According to Insider Gaming, it was supposed to be a live service game with a five-player multiplayer experience. The trailer itself looks pretty polished, which makes the whole situation a bit unfortunate considering that the game was canceled by Sony as revealed in last year's leaks.

The multiverse itself isn't a completely new concept for Insomniac's series. One of the side missions in Spider-Man 2 Spider-bots It revolves around collecting and then encountering Delilah from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse. Peter Parker from Insomniac's Spider-Man games also makes a cameo in the film.

“I don't think I'll be good enough this time, guys. But we can be together,” says the trailer's voiceover. The video is voiced by actor Yuri Lowenthal, who portrayed Peter Parker in Insomniac's Spider-Man games.

It's a tough day to be a Spidey fan when Spider-Man: The Great Web is looking this good and is still cancelled. However, last year's leaks also outlined a third game in the series, which is currently in development alongside a Venom game. There may be a small chance that Insomniac Games returns to development of The Great Web or tries its hand at a similar multiplayer game. But for now we can only dream.
