With Steam, it affects players along with their friends living in different parts of the world.

Steam is having trouble gifting games. Steam often gives players the option to purchase the game for themselves or gift the game to another user. It's a good way to show your gratitude to a friend or family member, and since Steam wishlists can be shared, it's easy to find something a gamer might want. But as some players dare not discover, this is only an option if Steam allows it.

Steam is a problem in gifting games Users of the Steam platform are discussing this issue on social media and many of them probably want to buy gifts because the Steam Winter Sale has started. These users report that when they want to make a purchase, they receive the message "The gift you sent cannot be delivered to the recipient's region due to regional price differences".

As some other users have pointed out, this issue was due to Steam's efforts to prevent players from getting games cheaper than they should have been. Games are sometimes priced based on the user's location, and adjustments are made based on the current value of their currency. In the past, this meant that someone could buy games cheaper than they should by gifting them to a friend in another country, or change regions using a VPN to gain access for a different price. Currently, donations cannot be made if the game price difference between the two regions is more than 10%.

While it's understandable to play the Steam Store to get a better price, this "solution" has some downsides, something Valve, game developers and game publishers will want to avoid. Users stated that they would be willing to pay a higher price if it meant they could gift a friend. However, this is not available, so players have no choice but to donate cash or Steam Gift Cards directly. While this method works, it is time consuming and more complex than it should be.
