VALORANT Patch 5.08 brings some major changes to Riot's top competitive FPS with the addition of controllers expert Harbor. The most notable change outside of the new aj was a new menu interface, new screens for the main menu, lobby, pre-game and endgame.
From Riot's perspective, the goal of the UI updates was to limit screen clutter while giving more attention to player cards. But while the visual improvements certainly look nice, some parts of the interface changes weren't very welcome among fans.
The changes made menu accessibility a little more tedious and required players to completely exit the menu section they were in before moving on to a new section. Players were not happy with the extra steps required to switch between pages, so Riot is planning a fix for this issue.
Riot member RiotZulu, VALORANT reddit page, “What we see is that the updated interface diagram adds a few more steps than you wanted. We are planning a change for Patch 5.10 that will bring back most of the easier one-click access to the menus in the game.”
As mentioned above, this update should allow players to switch between career pages, collections, and lobby with one click.
RiotZulu also reiterated that the original UI changes are the first step in a longer process that "brings motion design and overarching visual fixes throughout the game." Some of these new updates may ship before the end of the year.
