According to a statement on social media, Park “Saebyeolbe” Jong-ryeol is retiring from the Overwatch League as a player. The announcement came just after Seoul Dynasty announced that they had dropped him, along with three other players and a coach.

In his statement on his retirement, he didn't elaborate on where he's going next, just saying "I'm thinking of writing a different story now". Some hope he makes his way to the popular Riot Games title VALORANT, while others think he might return to OWL as a coach or staff member.

Saebyeolbe is considered one of the best Tracer players in the world and has been in OWL for a long time. He started in the league's first season at the New York Excelsior and was later picked up by Dynasty before the 2021 season.

He has had great success with NYXL throughout his career. They have won multiple tournaments with the team, including three of the four stage finals in the first season and a third place finish in the 2019 season.

The Tracer specialist was widely loved as an OWL player for his personality and charm. He is one of the OWL players who is married and his wife moved to the United States to be with him. When they were apart, it was seen that Saebyeolbe had placed a picture of his wife somewhere nearby as a good luck charm.

Seoul Dynasty announced earlier this morning that they have let all four players and their head coach go before the 2022 season. They also said they will hire Hong “Gesture” Jae-hui and Park “Profit” Jun-young for the next season of OWL.
