Both Horde and Alliance players will be able to create pre-made parties for dungeons, raids, and ranked PvP matches.
“Times are changing,” Blizzard said in the announcement, quoting the former Warchief of Horde Garrosh Hellscream.
Official World of Warcraft Twitter also made a post explaining the feature. The post contained a short video originating from the Mists of Pandaria cinematic trailer.
Blizzard acknowledged that this cross-faction feature could cause some inconvenience due to the gameplay base.
In the announcement, which referenced a response from BlizzCon 2019, “The Alliance and Horde separation… is the pillar of what makes Warcraft Warcraft.”
"There's a Genn for every Jaina, and that doesn't seem likely to change anytime soon," Blizzard said. “But why not make that choice for themselves, especially in collaborative environments where the story revolves around coming together to overcome dire threats?”
World of Warcraft players will be able to test this cross-faction gameplay at 9.2.5 PTR. “We plan to test and release it as part of a next 9.2.5 update,” Blizzard said.
