Nintendo has announced a new release date for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but unlike The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, it's not a postponement. Instead, Nintendo is pushing the game's release date a few months ahead. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will now arrive on Nintendo Switch on July 2022, a date earlier than the previously announced September 29 release date.

Nintendo also confirmed that a special edition of the game is available from the My Nintendo Store.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was announced during the February 2022 Nintendo Direct. The game features a brand new cast of characters, including Noah and Mio. Players can control Noah's crew of six, in addition to other characters on the way.

The new trailer shows the background of the game, which takes place in the world of Aionios, "a vast natural world". The video also showcases the game's combat system. Each character has their own special attributes, so players can strategize and create different teams for different encounters.

There's also a new "link" system where teams of Noah-Mio, Lanz-Sena, and Eunie-Taion couples can come together to form a giant, powerful form called Ouroboros.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 pre-orders opened.
