Netflix has added another game developer to its ranks. The company announced that it has acquired Boss Fight Entertainment, a Texas-based mobile studio. Boss Fight Entertainment, developer of Oxenfree, is the third game studio Netflix has acquired, after Next Games, the team behind the Night School and Stranger Things puzzle game. Boss Fight's older games include a mobile strategy game called Dungeon Boss. The studio was formed after the closure of Zynga's Dallas studio, which developed the Facebook game CastleVille.
The news comes just as Netflix is making a big entrance into the gaming space. In addition to acquiring established studios, Netflix has also made mobile games part of its subscription package.
"This studio's extensive experience in creating hit games across genres will help accelerate our ability to deliver great games to Netflix members wherever they want to play," said Amir Rahimi, Netflix's vice president of game studios, in a statement to Boss Fight.
