Games that shut down their servers. It's pretty unfortunate when a game shuts down a server, especially if the game is multiplayer. The actors and their friends shared the exciting moments and reached an end from which they can never return. Keeping servers up can be expensive for developers, forcing them to shut down aspects of a game that no longer seem viable. It's sad to see this though. As players are in the middle of next-gen games, old games are shutting down their servers depending on factors such as the number of players in the lobbies.
The good news is that even though the games are closed, that doesn't mean they're completely unplayable (unless they're fully multiplayer). This means that players can no longer access online features. Games are closing every year and let's look at 2022 games that close in 5.
The Game That Shut Down Its Servers Forza Street
This is the mobile variant of one of the most iconic and gripping sports games of all time. It was a feat to have a realistic racer that felt like a full-fledged game entirely in the player's hands while still having the Need For Speed aesthetic. Forza Street has taken the simulator aspect of mainline Forza games and made it accessible to casual gamers as well. But Forza Street divided the community. The players either loved him or hated him.
So, there were several reasons why the servers of this mobile game were shut down. The players did not fully control the cars; in fact, the cars ran on their own. Players would touch spins, boots, and other interactive objects that helped players win the race. Forza Street , it had a pretty long life for a mobile game, it was released in 2019 and lasted for three years before shutting down in early 2022. left unsatisfied.

The Game That Shut Down Its Servers Army Of Two: 40th Day
Both Army Of Two games are great narrative-driven experiences, which makes them super immersive. But the sequel Army Of Two: 40th Day was even deeper and featured a complex moral system that made this third-person shooter one of the best co-op adventures in the game. Plus, both characters in Army Of Two: 40th Day were theirs. Players felt that the second player was part of the narrative, not like an extension.
However, EA shut down a bunch of online servers for its games in October 40, including Army Of Two: 2022th Day. Players can no longer play with friends online. But on the other hand, the local co-op still works, meaning it's possible to play with friends in the same room. That's not a bad thing – it makes immersion even better and allows both players to communicate and strategize more efficiently.
Assassin's Creed 3
Many think that Assassin's Creed games do not have servers because they are story driven games. The main meat of these games is the single player campaign, but the multiplayer adds another element of replayability. At a time when multiplayer shooters like Call Of Duty and Battlefield were hugely popular, Assassin's Creed multiplayer brought a freshness to multiplayer games. A cat-and-mouse game-play made for some fun and interesting sessions.
Assassin's Creed 3 introduced a new hero. While not as strong, it still propelled the series forward. Among all the innovations, the multiplayer mode has been overhauled, adding new characters with their own abilities and new modes showcasing many of them. It's unfortunate that such games will be shutting down in September 2022. Moreover, Ubisoft has owned Assassin's Creed games since 2014's Assassin's Creed Unity.
Far Cry 3
Another Ubisoft game closed in 2022, which is sad. The online element was fun and deep and rich in its own right. Since Far Cry 3 is still the best Far Cry game to date, players had a whole package. With a butler that remains iconic to this day, the story was well crafted and wowed players with all its twists and turns. It also had a multiplayer episode that added a sense of community to Rook Island.
Instead of playing a typical team deathmatch, players would play in goal-based co-ops. It made gameplay fun and exaggerated as single player, and players' story predispositions could be transferred to multiplayer. Also, being separate from the main campaign made the multiplayer part immersive. Unfortunately, players will not be able to relive this interesting experience when the server is shut down.
Ghost Recon Future Solider
The long-standing tactical shooter was another victim of Ubisoft's takedown of its servers. Ghost Recon Future Solider had the whole package, as did Far Cry 3, where it had a separate swarm mode campaign that could be played with friends or alone but better with friends. Besides the PVE action, Ghost Recon Future Solider also featured PVP where players battled against other players.
Ghost Recon Future Solider was made for everyone because of how easily it can adapt to the playstyle of many players. The PVP element was a good example. It took the easy-to-learn mechanics and turned players against each other, making online matches pretty fun. However, after October 2022, the multiplayer part of the game was closed.
