Apex Legends Mobile's first exclusive legend, Fade, is introduced.
Also known as the Phasing Punisher, Fade is a highly mobile character that increases his own movement potential while destroying his enemies. It's also excellent at preventing third-party situations, aiding teammates, and isolating enemies to destroy.
Fade will be exclusive to Apex Legends Mobile for now and will not appear on console or PC versions of Apex. According to Respawn Entertainment, there are currently no plans to bring Fade to PC and console, mostly due to its mobile-specific nature. However, it has been extensively counterbalanced against existing myths to prevent Fade from weakening or overpowering.
Fade's passive, Slipstream, grants him a short movement speed buff after floating on the ground. Unlike many other Legend's passives, Slipstream has a cooldown of 10 seconds. His tactic, Flash Back, is very similar to Tracer's Recall in Overwatch. After a short channel, Fade is sent into space and teleported back to its position two seconds ago. Their weapons reload and become temporarily invulnerable while teleporting.
Fade's ultimate feature, Phase Chamber, is what gives it most of its anti-third-person potential. Fade fires a phase cage projectile with a large dome effect. When activated after a period of time, all friendly and foe legends within it are sent into space, slowing their movement speed and pinpointing their exact position in Fade's HUD. The Phase Chamber can be used to isolate an enemy to protect an ally from damage and crowd control or to eliminate them easily.
Fade also has his own knowledge that intersects with that of other legends. His real name is Ignacio Huamani, and he entered the games to avenge his family, who was attacked and killed by mercenaries after searching for their high-tech legacy. Although she hates and fears the powerful Stage outfit she wears in games, she knows it's the only way to lead her to victory and find her family's killers.
Fade will be playable when Apex Legends Mobile launches worldwide tomorrow, May 17.
