A few more first day xbox game pass games have been confirmed. Kazuma Kiryu's spy-thriller adventure will be added to Game Pass on day one, joining Like a Dragon: Ishin and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy at a later date.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to some big new games in the near future, including Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and Like a Dragon: Ishin will be added to the subscription service's library along with several other games. This interquel for Like a Dragon Gaiden will be available as a day one release on Game Pass when it launches on November 9, Xbox announced at Tokyo Game Show.
Set after Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and during Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Like a Dragon Gaiden focuses on legendary Yakuza Kazuma Kiryu, who fakes his own death so he can protect his family. Now operating under the code name Joryu, Kiryu falls into a new conspiracy that threatens to expose him and endanger his loved ones. Billed as a shorter adventure in the Like a Dragon series, the game also lays the groundwork for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth ahead of its January 2024 release, which upon completion will unlock special scenes that are inaccessible in that game.
Like a Dragon: Ishin was released earlier this year, finally bringing the port that developer Ryu Ga Gotokou deemed impossible to Western audiences to various platforms. Unlike Yakuza and Like a Dragon games set in the modern era, Ishin is a samurai epic where you pick up Sakamoto Ryoma's sword and explore feudal Japan and uncover who really killed his father. There's no release date yet, but Xbox has confirmed it will be available on Game Pass later this year.
For something different outside of Japan, Game Pass subscribers can also look forward to the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy when it arrives on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on September 26. In 2024, the series expands with Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Like a Dragon and Ace Attorney games join several other games previously confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass. Mineko's Night Market (October 26), Persona 5 Tactica (November 17), and Persona 3 Reload (February 2, 2024) are being added as day one releases. In the near future of Game Pass, four new daily releases will be available in the second half of September, but the Game Pass library is losing seven games in September.
Other announcements from the Xbox Tokyo Game Show panel included confirmation that Octopath Traveler II will be coming to Xbox platforms in early 2024, the 65D “slasher movie parodic action” Hotel Barcelona from Swery51 and Suda2.5, and a first look at action-adventure Altheia: The Wrath of First look at Aferi.
