Bungie is developing a mobile shooter set in the Destiny universe with Chinese publisher NetEase, according to a new report.
Job postings for a Destiny project previously The Game Post was seen last year. Required skills included “willingness to travel to China” regularly and hosting Chinese joint teams.
NetEase invested $2018 million in Bungie in 100. However, the companies have never officially confirmed what they are working on together.
A Game Post source familiar with NetEase's development plans claimed that the Chinese company is working on a new Destiny shooter project for mobile devices and has been working on it for several years. The suggestion is that this will be a new game rather than a mobile version of Destiny 1 or 2.
NetEase is highly experienced in mobile games. Most recently, it partnered with Blizzard in the release of Diablo Immortal for PC and smartphones.
