Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer arrived on PC yesterday for those who pre-order, Activision announced a summary of minimum/recommended system requirements and additional general PC settings.
The minimum specs for the beta require 8GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5-3570 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X CPU, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 470 system requirement. The recommended specs, meanwhile, will require 16GB of RAM, an Intel Core i7-4770K or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X CPU, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 card. In terms of general PC settings, Modern Warfare II features a "Quick Settings" menu, which is new for this year's game and gives players access to up to 15 options that players can access in and out of matches. Options such as master volume, bar sensitivity, mouse sensitivity and brightness are available in Quick Settings; In past games these were available in different menus. Players can hover over any of the additional options to save to Quick Settings.
Modern Warfare 2 on PC also has a search function. Players can press F to open search and then search for the settings they are looking for.
Additionally, players can change things like automatic sprint and walking pace. Keybindings are also available in Modern Warfare II.
In terms of viewing options, gamers can use V-Sync and custom framerate limits to help prevent instability. There are also quality options for things like shadows and spot shadow resolution. Gamers can also adjust texture resolution, and Activision said there's a "big difference" in VRAM usage between medium and high. For gamers with a low-end PC, Activision said it recommends lowering the setting from high to medium.
Modern Warfare II multiplayer on PC also features a field of view slider that players can adjust to their personal preferences. In terms of audio settings, players can turn subtitles on or off and choose to automatically connect audio when matches start or mute itself when connecting.
