Activision has announced the dates for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta, and as always, PlayStation members will have their first taste of this beta.
The beta will begin with an "early access" period for those who pre-order on September 16 and will then be available to all PlayStation members from September 18-20. Players who pre-order for Xbox and PC will be able to access the beta starting September 22. You can see the full program below.
PlayStation users seem to be a little more wary as Sony and Activision have a deal. That won't be the case forever as Microsoft is in the process of acquiring Activision and all of its studios and franchises, including Call of Duty.
The Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta will include a new map called Marina Grand Prix. This map will be a 6v6 map set on an urban racetrack. You can check out a teaser for the new map below. But beyond this map, Activision has yet to reveal exactly what the Modern Warfare 2 beta will include in terms of mods and maps.
The Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta kicks off the day after the Call of Duty Next event on September 15. This will include all the details of Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer mode, as well as some news on what's next for Warzone.
