Arc Raiders, the free-to-play shooter from former Battlefield boss Patrick Soderlund's new studio, has been delayed. The game was previously scheduled to arrive in 2022, but has now been delayed to 2023.
Embark Studios, the team behind the game, said the extra development time will be used to "expand the experience and allow it to reach its full potential."

Arc Raiders, a co-op focused third-person PvE shooter, explores the theme of players needing to work together to fight Arc, "fearless foes" falling from the sky.

Soderlund worked for over a decade at DICE, the Battlefield studio where he was CEO from 2000. He then held senior roles at Electronic Arts, which acquired DICE in 2006, and rose to vice president of worldwide studios. Soderlund left EA in October 2018 and began working for Embark Studios in November of that year. With the release of Arc Raiders, Embark Studios will have released its first game.
