Blizzard has confirmed that Overwatch 2 will not receive a third beta before its official release.
The news comes via tweets from Overwatch commercial lead Jon Spector. Spector writes that instead of running another beta, the team will be using feedback from the game's alpha and two open beta tests to focus on "making the best possible game available on October 4".
With data gathered from betas, numerous balance changes have occurred in the game's hero roster, and updates have continued to arrive throughout Overwatch 2's open betas. Major adjustments to support heroes like Zenyatta and Mercy have come as a result of player feedback about how supporting role-playing doesn't feel as fun. While some of the heroes in Overwatch 2 are basically the same as in the original Overwatch, some like Orissa and Doomfist have changed dramatically. Beta players also had the opportunity to try out Overwatch 2's new heroes, Sojourn and Junker Queen.
Overwatch 2, which will replace the original Overwatch at launch, will be free to play and will not contain loot boxes. Instead, it will allow players to purchase cosmetics directly, and will also feature a battle pass for the first time in Blizzard's FPS.

Blizzard has since clarified that the prices listed in the survey are not real and have been chosen at random to help users "better understand player preferences." Blizzard says it will announce additional details about the game's store and battle pass closer to launch.
