Vessel of Hatred, the first major expansion pack for Diablo 4 to be released in late 2024, has been officially announced by Blizzard. The reveal came alongside a brief trailer showing off a returning region from Diablo 2.
Announced during BlizzCon and featuring a green logo instead of the typical red, Vessel of Hatred will follow Mephisto and his “evil plans for Sanctuary” after the events of Diablo 4. The expansion takes place in the Kurast region, a jungle-filled region that appears to be inspired by South America. This region first appeared in Diablo 2.
The trailer didn't show much beyond the dense jungle setting, but Blizzard did say that the expansion will include a brand new class for the Diablo series. A datamine, which appears to be accurate according to the announcement, suggests that the class will be called Spiritborn and will likely be another spell-focused class.
Blizzard also announced that it will be holding a holiday event in December. Vessel of Hatred, the first expansion for Diablo 4, will arrive on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS2024, PS4, and PC in late 5.
