Another game has been delayed, with EA's new pro game shifting to later in 2022.
EA's new golf game will not be released at the time of the EA Sports PGA Tour. The EA Sports PGA Tour will not debut on the schedule in Spring 2022, the broadcaster said on Wednesday.
In a brief statement, EA said it will share more information about the game's launch plans in the coming months. However, no explanation was given for the delay.
At launch, EA PGA Tour will compete with the next PGA Tour 2022K game, which looks set to release in 2 after skipping a release this year. The EA Sports PGA Tour will be EA's first new PGA Tour title since 2015's Rory McIlroy PGA Tour.
2K's game has Tiger Woods as a mentor, but EA's game will be the only one to feature all four of golf's Major tournaments, including the Masters, PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open. The EA PGA Tour also features the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), including the Amundi Evian Championship event. Both male and female PGA Tour pros will feature as playable characters, though the full list of athletes has yet to be revealed. The game also has a player creation tool.
