Fallout 2 Fan turns cult game into FPS: Fallout 2 fans are turning 1998's cult classic into an FPS, and an early version of the project is now free to play. The name Fallout carries weight within the genre, as the series is widely regarded as one of the best post-apocalyptic games of all time. Since the release of the third installment in 2008, games have made huge strides in the AAA gaming industry when Bethesda took over the series and brought an open-world first-person perspective to things.
Now that the fifth entry has been officially announced, we hope Bethesda will reveal more about Fallout 5 soon. However, since the game doesn't come after The Elder Scrolls 6 yet, with no indication of its coming soon, it's hard to know exactly when the next Fallout game will be out, or even what stage of development it's currently in. By the way, some fans still fondly remember the original entries, and one decided to give the classic game a more modern twist.

Fallout 2 Fan turns the cult game into FPS. As spotted by PCGamesN, Itch.io user Jonasz O has released an early version of a Fallout 2 remake that turns the isometric game into a first-person shooter. It allows players to navigate this wasteland as if it were an early Doom game, while keeping the original graphics. Similar to the original Fallout 2, players can customize their characters and use the VATS system in battle. But with this fan version, players can choose real-time action. The project is still in development and alpha development, but anyone interested can play the game in its current form with a web browser on the mod maker's Itch.io page.
This isn't the first time something like this has happened in an early Fallout game either. There is another Fallout project called Fallout: Bakersfield that turns the game into FPS. Late last year, a short teaser gave a glimpse of what players can expect from a fan creation like the Jonasz O remake that turns the classic isometric turn-based game into more of an action shooter.
