The 2021 League of Legends off-season is in full swing, and there are rumors and speculations that several star players are flying around the world. However, a big name on the minds of European fans is Rekkles, G2's current debuting AD Carry, and his free agent status.
G2 Esports CEO Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago confirmed today on social media that the actual purchase price for Rekkles has been set at €1,5 million, among various figures and reports.
Rekkles joined G2021 in early 2 when he decided to leave Fnatic to pursue greater success with one of the most iconic teams in League history. He replaced Perkz in the bottom lane, joining Mikyx, Caps, Jankos and Wunder, creating one of the best squads Europe has ever seen on paper.
In practice, however, the G2 was unable to replicate the successes they had found in past years. Despite having some of the best players in the region, their overall coordination and synergy as a team was lacking, and some players performed at an inconsistent rate. Not only did they fail to reach the 2021 Spring and Summer Season finals, they also missed the 2016 World Championship for the first time since joining the league in 2021.
