Ubisoft, With the release of Far Cry 6 closer than ever, the game has plenty of teasers to whet their appetites ahead of its October launch. This includes an incredible cosplay of a female Dani with cheerleader Chorizo and a few trailers for the upcoming FPS. One such trailer focused solely on Giancarlo Esposito. Here, the actor mocked the actors for deigning to think that a guerrilla like Dani, who had a penchant for home-made analytical weapons and a love of dogs, could take down Castillo with his strong and heavily armed army. Esposito has leaked some nasty charm throughout this entire trailer, proving just how excellent his casting for the role of Castillo really is.
Prior to the release of Far Cry 6, Screen Rant had the chance to chat with Navid Khavari, Director of Narrative and Lead Writer at Ubisoft, about the game and Esposito's role as the villain. According to Khavari, when it came to creating Anton Castillo, the character “… many different shapes and forms” took it and said:
“…we wanted someone with versatility to go from charismatic to looking into your soul with dread, and we started to come down with Anton as a person of color. Giancarlo has always been there as a dream cast, but then suddenly something happens on the page where you realize you're typing into his voice. And then it gets a little scary because you say, 'Oh my God. I hope he wants to do that, or we might get in trouble.”
Fortunately Esposito is in Far Cry 6 Castle He was in the role of Khavari, and Khavari knew that their first encounter was “a match made in heaven” revealed that. Needless to say, the rest is history.
By the way, as for Anton's son Diego Castillo, the role went to Anthony Gonzalez, famous for his character Miguel Rivera in Pixar's Coco. This, “I find it hilarious that Anthony Gonzalez is playing the lead role in Coco and being next to Giancarlo Esposito, the villain in Breaking Bad. These two together? There's a part of me that always smiles when I think we've accomplished that."
While some of the latest previews of Far Cry 6 have been mediocre with their reviews of the game so far, portrayals of Anton and Diego Castillo have always captivated fans. Fortunately, players don't have to wait too long to get a full view of Giancarlo Esposito's murderous villain and the dangerous world he lives in.
