God of War Ragnarok is a bigger and arguably better game than its 2018 game. The best way to see its size is in the crafting menu offered by the game. There's more customization options, more resources to find, and a lot to focus on as you try to tailor Kratos' combat style to your preferred playstyle. That's why we've prepared the production manual to help you get the hang of it as quickly as possible.
This guide contains very light story spoilers.
Use the Transmog feature
In God of War Ragnarok, where your armor is constantly changing, one of the features that players like the most is transformation. Conversion makes your equipment look like other equipment while retaining the benefits of your original equipment. You may like Kratos' bare shoulders, but you may want to take advantage of the high defensive armor set that typically comes in a style that covers his entire upper body in shiny metal. With the ability to transform, you can look at one style but play it another way.
Selling old armor makes easy money
You can get early game armor, upgrade it over and over and progress through the story. This is a convenient way to play God of War Ragnarok. But if you switch things up, you get a retired armor, making it a great item to sell to Brok and Sindri. You can sell armor and other crafted items you no longer want for a good stack of Hacksilver. So don't let these things rust in your inventory. Trade it just like an old cell phone.
Keep armor sets in mind to gain bulk buffs
RPG fans are likely to be familiar with this situation. Your armor comes in three pieces: chest, wrist, and belt. Pairing them with the same set works because you can accumulate buffs. For example, in-game you can opt for armor that allows more damage to be done to stunned enemies, which pairs well with Atreus' arrows. Having just one of these armor pieces would give you 20% bonus damage, because when you're wearing the full set, Kratos actually deals 40% damage to stunned enemies. That's why it's very important to choose an equipment that suits your playing style.
Muspelheim holds the keys to many rare resources
You will find a Muspelheim seed halfway through your adventure and you will be told that you need the other half to unlock the kingdom. Once you find both Muspelheim seeds and travel to the realm, you'll be able to go to The Crucible, a battle arena that distributes rare and unique resources for your achievements. If you're going for the Platinum Trophy, be sure to spend some time there.
Buy resources in bulk from Brock and Sindri
Sometimes you will only need a few more items from a particular category. In such cases, there may be cases where you can purchase these items in bulk at Brock and Sindri's blacksmith shop. Sure, you may need to go out and get it out of a slain monster or something, but as you progress through the game, the store inventory at the blacksmiths evolves, so there's a good chance they'll have what you're looking for and be willing to sell it.
Crashing into debris gives you resources
Typically, bumping into something while on a boat or toboggan means you're having a bad time, but for Kratos, that's extra loot. Whether you're in the water or sledding through the kingdoms deep in Fimbulwinter, there's a lot of debris you can crash into, and doing so will give you little Hacksilver reserves and resources.
Frozen Flame and Chaos Flame are keys to cultivation
Two of the most important resources are Frozen Flame and Chaos Flame, which enhance your ax and knives respectively. While playing God of War Ragnarok you will probably realize their importance early on and this may make you want to get them faster. Unfortunately, Frozen Flame and Chaos Flame in our guide As we explained, you cannot manufacture these materials. Post-game you will be able to find some pieces of these items that will collectively give you more upgrades, such as when you complete all the Draugr Holes, but other than that, you will only be able to earn these items at certain moments.
