Set in the wizarding world of Harry Potter, Hogwarts Legacy takes place 100 years before the events of the popular novel series. The game allows players to create their own characters, choose their homes, and attend classes, while an original story unfolds around them involving a goblin riot. Developer Avalanche Games has confirmed that the game will not feature multiplayer items or microtransactions. Instead, the game will offer a story-driven, single-player experience.
But the excitement for Hogwarts Legacy is unclear whether Harry Potter series writer JK Rowling is reportedly "not directly involved" with the upcoming game, though it will profit from the game's success. It is also unknown whether Rowling will write any additional stories set in the Harry Potter universe or release any additional films.
The game, which will try to make players taste the wizardry experience in every way, will be released on February 10, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch version will also be released later.
