ESL confirmed today that IEM Fall, the final Regional Major Ranking (RMR) event for PGL Major Stockholm, will use the latest CS:GO update available with Operation Riptide.
This update will bring significant changes to the meta. Updated the C4, Dust II and Ancient, strengthened the M4A1-S, and nerfed the Desert Eagle.
Valve-approved tournaments like IEM Fall are usually played in the latest version of CS:GO, and this time around will be no different. The final RMR tournament ahead of PGL Major Stockholm will kick off in less than a week across four of the six regions, so pro players won't have much time to prepare.
This is especially bad news for teams like Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan, Complexity and OG who have to play BLAST Premier Fall Group C in the previous release in the coming days and have to practice in the latest update to prepare.
IEM Fall will begin September 29 in Europe, CIS, South America and Oceania. The North American and Asian tournaments will begin on October 5.
