League of Legends Worlds 2021 was played for three days and both teams were eliminated from the tournament. Unfortunately for LATAM and CIS fans, both Infinity Esports and Unicorns of Love are leaving the event after a lackluster set of performances in their respective play-in groups.
It was clear that they didn't have the firepower to match the other rosters. This is undoubtedly a disappointing end to the Worlds, especially as they achieved a similar result at MSI 2021 where they finished last in their group as well.
UOL nearly suffered the same fate as Infinity, but they were finally able to make things interesting with a last minute win against Cloud9. This forced them into a tiebreak with LJL's DetonatioN FocusMe, where they eventually fell into Japan's rising roster.
As for the rest of the event, fans should keep their eyes on the qualifying phase of the tournament, which kicks off on Friday, October 8.
