KT Rolster won League of Legends: Wild Rift Champions Korea (WCK) today after a 4-0 victory over Break Frame Gaming in the finals and secured a place for themselves in the Wild Rift World Championship 2021.
The organization, which also competes in the LCK, may not be able to participate in the League of Legends World Championship, but will compete on the world stage in the mobile game. The first Wild Rift World Championship 2021 will take place this year with 10 teams from around the world. KT Rolster will be the only Korean team at the event.
WCK took place at LoL Park in Seoul, South Korea, the same venue used for LCK. Eight teams – three invited and five qualifier teams – competed for a place at the World Championships and a share of the 80.000.000 million South Korean won (approximately $67.680) prize pool.
KT Rolster went through the event and did not lose a single game. Break Frame Gaming took first place in their group after beating Let's Go to Mars and Baby 87. They beat T1 3-0 and set up a final match against Brake Frame Gaming, which they defeated in back-to-back matches and won the series 4-0.
KT Rolster will have high expectations on their shoulders as they make their way to the first World Championship for Wild Rift. South Korea has been an extremely successful region at the PC World Championships.
