There will be no pay2win products in the next update of Lost Ark. When the update arrives on June 30, it will not include Yoz's Jar, a previously announced item set.
A new update outlining the features coming to the MMO with the Wrath of the Covetous Legion update in the blog post Lost Ark's publisher, Amazon, stated that the Yoz's Jar cosmetic system, which was announced in the game's final roadmap, will not be included in future releases.
Yoz's Jar would come to Lost Ark as a new cosmetic system, and while it was mainly for fashion purposes only, epic and legendary skins obtained through Yoz's Jar would give a 1% or 2% attack power increase depending on rarity. Yoz's Jar cosmetics could be obtained from the in-game store through Royal Crystals. In addition, skins would then be sold in the player-to-player market. Players can exchange non-premium currencies such as gold for premium coins such as Royal Crystals via an in-game exchange system. Therefore, it would technically be possible for players to purchase Yoz's Jar cosmetics without spending real money.
Although this is possible, it is not easy for players who play without depositing real money to reach the amount of gold that they can buy premium products. Therefore, it would not be wrong to count cosmetics as pay2win. Amazon has decided not to bring these skins into the game after pay2win concerns.
In addition to announcing the removal of Yoz's Jar, Amazon detailed some free in-game gifts that players will receive to celebrate the update's arrival. Players will be able to choose from a variety of upgrade materials and a Mokoko Skin ballot box.
Amazon will release the full patch notes for the Wrath of the Covetous Legion update next week, which will introduce new story content and a new dungeon.
Although Amazon and developer Smilegate RPG are trying to combat the game's ongoing bot issues, Lost Ark remains one of the most played games on Steam since its release in February. Amazon has promised to add Lost Ark additional character classes.
