Megan Fox to Play Mortal Kombat 1 Vampire 'She's Someone Like Me' Megan Fox in the actress-girl age
Megan Fox appears to be in the actress-girl age and shows no signs of slowing down. The American actress will voice the vampire fighter Nitara in Mortal Kombat 1. On Wednesday, developer NetherRealm Studios released a trailer introducing the character and showcasing Fox's new role.
Mortal Kombat 1 is the next installment in the iconic fighting game franchise that was first released in 1992. The game will introduce a new story and universe and bring "redesigned" versions of popular Mortal Kombat characters from different games. This includes Nitara, whose new design is based on Fox himself. “It's great to be in the game. Because I don't just voice it. It's like he's going to be like me," says Fox in the character trailer.
The trailer shows Nitara using her claws, fangs and aerial abilities to fight her way to a bloody victory. Nitara's lines also contain references to Fox's previous works. In one piece, we see Nitara face to face with Kung Lao. Before their fight he asked her, “What did you do to Jen's corpse?” he asks. Fox played the lead role in the 2009 horror movie Jennifer's Body.
The role seems perfectly suited to Fox for a number of reasons. For starters, the actress is totally embracing being a girl. The rather nerdy Fox cosplayed Zelda and was involved in the Diablo 4 marketing campaign. Also, this role coincides with his public persona that he has developed over the years. Playing a vampire in a bloody video game makes sense for a player who has openly participated in a ritual in which he drinks his partner's blood.
Still, the role seems to have challenged him in some ways.
“It forces me to go into areas where I am not comfortable… I had a lot of fun doing it and it allowed me to be more free with myself.”
Mortal Kombat 1 will arrive on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 19, Windows PC and Xbox Series X on September 5.
