Microsoft's New Xbox Cases Actually Look Pretty Good. Unlike previous similar products, these official Xbox Series X cases are super easy to put on and take off.
If your Xbox Series X's black plastic exterior is starting to bore you, good news: There's now a new way to style your Xbox and it's free of sticky vinyl paper. Microsoft today unveiled console official skins for the Xbox Series X, starting with the Starfield-themed white skin that will launch on October 18 before different designs. Other skins will be released on November 10.
Microsoft's new skins will include three designs: a bluish "Mineral" style camouflage, a snowy white "Arctic" visual flavor, and the aforementioned Starfield-themed skin that actually labels parts of the console and lists some of its specs. Microsoft states that some of the official Xbox Wireless Controller colors will match (or contrast nicely) with the new console skins.
These wraps feature “solid core panels layered with hi-tech fabric overlays.” The interior has a silicone surface that will prevent them from slipping. It stays in place with a Velcro-like casing, meaning you don't have to mess with adhesives. Traditional vinyl sidings, such as those made from 3M materials, are not very forgiving if the initial application isn't properly aligned and are pretty much a one-time use item, so if you want to change up your styles, you're basically going to throw away the old vinyl sidings.

The skins are listed on Microsoft's site at $44,99 for the blue and white variants and $49,99 for the Starfield version. While that price may sound a little high, it's comparable to dbrand's vinyl products, but the new Microsoft skins don't have nearly the same amount of color and pattern options.
It's been a while since you've been able to customize the visual appearance of an Xbox, at least officially. The Xbox 360 originally featured removable faceplates, often themed to various games such as Halo, Gears of War, and others, as with the upcoming Starfield Xbox Series X bundle.
