Now their games are easier to find – if you can access them
It's been just a few months since Netflix confirmed its plans to include games in its subscription, and after initial testing in Poland, the publisher is rolling out Android games to customers in Spain and Italy. While Netflix has had some promotional titles before, links have recently surfaced for everything from Oculus VR to PC gamers on Steam, the experience built right into the app.
The Netflix playtest is currently only available on Android, while tweets from their accounts localized for Spain and Italy are still working, pushing customers to the Google Play Store. There they can install games that are playable as part of their regular subscription. Once installed, players can launch them from the main Netflix app, but it's not like watching movies as players switch to the game's own app. There are five games to choose from: Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, Teeter Up, Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3.
A significant change is already visible in the screenshots, as the game section has its own section in the bottom navigation bar; this should be made more visible only to people browsing the app. When Netflix executives announced the effort in July, “Games will be included in members' Netflix subscription at no additional cost, similar to movies and series. Initially, we will focus primarily on games for mobile devices.”
Today's tweet shows that the company is "still in the early stages of our gaming experience", with nothing to say about when it might be available in the US. If you're desperate for tips, the most important factor is probably that it's in English.
